The guardhouse was already built in a classical style, white columns and a wrought iron arch, so the lamp posts had to sit with that. We went with the twin head lantern in black. Traditional enough to match the arch, plain enough that it does not fight the white render.

Same pole throughout, 3.1 metres, two heads, entrance and internal roads. It is tempting to mix styles on a big site but that is usually what makes a new taman look messy. One fitting down the whole road reads as planned.

Bulbs are E27 18W at 3000K. Daylight would have been the cheaper habit but 6500K on white render at night looks cold, more like a car park than somewhere you live. 3000K keeps the walls warm and the plants looking green.

Bollards came later, 34 of them at 700mm with GU10 COB bulbs, again at 3000K. Poles light the road, bollards light the walkways and planting. Same colour temperature on both so the eye does not catch a change when you walk from one to the other.

It went out in stages across 2023 and 2024, 48 poles first, then bollards, then the rest, following site progress. We held the same spec each time so the later stretches match the first. Colour and fitting drift between phases is a common headache on staged projects and it is avoidable if the supplier keeps the stock consistent. We were still supplying replacement bulbs into late 2024.
