Bypass vs Non-bypass, which one do you need?
Non-bypass (with ballast)
Works with the existing fluorescent ballast: take the old tube out and put the LED tube in. It is safe in Philips and OSRAM fittings. In a fitting already rewired for bypass it simply won't light, and it won't trip the breaker.
Bypass (direct mains)
Wires straight to live and neutral with no ballast, so the fitting has to be rewired. Never put a bypass tube in an unconverted Philips or OSRAM fitting. It will short circuit.
